Gulf-of-Mexico BeachesYou can walk to these beaches in 2 to 3 minutes. They are usually not crowded and the beaches are very wide. The waves are generally not very high and depending on the weather and time of year, they are very gentle. However we can get some big waves during certain times of the day (tides) and if a storm is out at sea - we can get large enough waves to surf. You can still body surf or use boogie boards on the smaller waves, plus the beaches are flat enough for skim boarding as well. |

Tampa Bay BeachesYou can walk to these beaches in 3 to 4 minutes. This side of the Island has very narrow beaches, but the water is very shallow for quite a ways out. It is an area the kids like to go to and frolic without bothering other beach goers. They can basically race around in the shallow water and go crazy. There are also two piers on this side of the Island - both offer restaurants, bars, tackle and bait shops, and fishing. These are photos of the beach area and water on the Tampa Bay side of the Island. |

The Sand and Seashells This will be one of your best experiences on the Island. The sand is incredible and you will find it soft and refreshing. We also have a lot of seashells and you can find many treasures along the shoreline. |
